Farming Workshop Will Pass Along Generational Knowledge
(Lancaster, PA) - Penn State Extension will soon offer a workshop in Lancaster County to match beginning and retiring farmers in Pennsylvania. Promoters say the objective is to host an overnight retreat and workshop to help farms transition from one generation to the next. The program is funded by a 50-thousand-dollar federal grant through the USDA. Farmers who take part will gain support in topics such as managing capital, acquiring and managing farm land, and learning about tax structures and effective business practices.
