Reading Regional Airport Tenants Concerned About Costs

(Reading, PA) -- The Reading Regional Airport Authority has recently taken over fuel service and other provisions at the Bern Township airfield after complaints about high costs. Members of the general aviation community had complained that fuel and hangar prices are too expensive and those scenarios have reportedly driven some people to use nearby competitors. Steve Schory, a member of the Reading Aero Club, told authority members during a recent meeting that pilots save an average of about 22 cents a gallon purchasing fuel at other airfields - despite receiving a 25-cent discount in Reading. Authority members say they'll survey area prices and will also work toward fair rates for hangar space that will be adopted later this year.
