>>Styrofoam Cup Leads to Arrest In 12-Year-Old Cold Case

(West Reading, PA) -- Police in Berks County, Pennsylvania say they've cracked a 12-year-old cold case by using DNA from a piece of Styrofoam cup. They've arrested Vallis Slaughter, of Jersey City for the March 2012 murder of Julio Torres. He was shot to death as he sat in his car in the parking lot of a West Reading Diner. Police say they used new facial recognition technology, as well as old DNA evidence collected from a Styrofoam Cup to match the evidence to Slaughter. He's currently awaiting extradition from Hudson County, New Jersey to Berks County to face murder, conspiracy and aggravated assault charges.
