Officials Tout Regional Transit Service Improvements

(Lancaster, PA) - State officials have gathered in Lancaster to raise awareness of proposed funding for public transit. PennDOT secretary Michael Carroll talked about Lancaster and Berks Counties Thursday when he said it's important to have transit in every region in the state. He also spoke of the governor's plans for public transit, which includes a boost of 280-million-dollars in his proposed budget. Officials from the Berks Area Reading Transportation Authority also have announced they will get about six-million-dollars in federal funding to help improve their regional service.
