>Boyertown Gala Honors Citizens Of The Year
(Reading, PA) -- Five Boyertown residents have been honored in a tradition that spans more than 70 years. They were recognized as Citizens of the Year Saturday night at the annual Boyertown Gala for going above and beyond in their efforts for their community. Ken Hunt was awarded Citizen of the Year, Mentor of the Year went to Jeff Shontz, James Boyer was recognized as First Responder of the Year and the Outstanding Senior award went to Samantha Jo Dolansky. A special Recognition Award was also given to the Boyertown Area Historical Society. Promoters say the recognitions are based on the impact the individuals have made in their respective categories, not by the number of people who've voted for them.
