Reading Cracks Down On Illegal ATVs, Dirt Bikes

(Reading, PA) -- Reading officials say their crackdown this week on illegal ATVs and dirt bikes in the city is showing some success. Police confiscated two bikes and arrested a rider after two separate pursuits. The action is the latest activity in their efforts against illegal off-road vehicles, which officials say are often driven recklessly by unlicensed riders. One rider who was being pursued earlier this week got away. The other, Gamalier Mateo Alicea, who is 20 and from Exeter Township, was captured. He faces charges of fleeing from police, as well as driving without a license and riding an unregistered vehicle on a public street.
