Hamburg High School Principal Named District's New Superintendent

(Reading, PA) -- The new Hamburg Schools superintendent is an educator that's already familiar to many teachers, parents and students. The school district Monday night announced the appointment of Hamburg High School principal Doctor Christopher Beissel to the post. He will begin his new position July first with a three-year-contract and starting salary of 175-thousand-dollars. Beissel follows Doctor Richard Mextorf, who retires at the end of June after nearly 40 years with Hamburg Schools.
