Residents in Northeast and East Central Pennsylvania are preparing for the first significant snowfall of the season. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch starting early Tuesday morning (December 2). This alert covers areas including Schuylkill County, with Lancaster and Eastern Berks County expected to receive between one and three inches of snow. In contrast, parts of West and Northern Berks could see up to six inches of snow.

According to WFMZ, a Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for other regions, including Upper Bucks, Western Chester, and Western Montgomery Counties, predicting snow and sleet accumulations between two and five inches. The storm is expected to bring hazardous travel conditions, particularly affecting the Tuesday morning commute.

The storm system, developing over the Gulf Coast, will move northeast, impacting the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. The Watchers report that areas north and west of I-95 could see snowfall exceeding six inches, with potential icing in the southern and central Appalachians.

Residents are advised to use caution while traveling and monitor weather updates. The storm is expected to transition to rain by Tuesday afternoon in some areas, but heavy snowfall is anticipated in higher elevations.
