A tragic accident occurred late Wednesday night (December 17) on Route 422 in Exeter Township, Pennsylvania, resulting in one fatality and one injury. According to Exeter Township police, 34-year-old Darren Rosenberger from Spring City was driving a sedan when it collided with the back of a tractor-trailer in the westbound lanes of the 7000 block of Benjamin Franklin Highway. Rosenberger was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Reading Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
The westbound lanes of Route 422 were closed for several hours following the accident as authorities conducted their investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 610-779-1490.
